Spring Cleaning Tips For Your Window Treatments

Spring is in the air, so now is the time to clean those window treatments you've been ignoring for the past year. If you have no time to spare or can dedicate some time to do a complete cleaning, we have some spring cleaning tips for you!

Tip #1: If you don't have a ton of extra time to clean your window treatments, gently shake them instead of taking them down to remove dust. Follow it up with a vacuum attachment, moving from top to bottom. You can also use hair dryer on a non-heat setting to blow dust off.










Tip #2:  Some drapes and curtains must be professionally dry cleaned. Be sure to check the fabric washing instructions before you proceed with any cleaning.

Tip #3: If you decide to wash your window treatments at home, be sure to use the gentle cycle on the washer and remove from the dryer while they are slightly damp to avoid shrinking. Instead of washing your window treatments, you can run drapes or valances through an air-fluff cycle in the dryer with a damp towel. Run for about 15 minutes and hang immediately after.
